I Got A Good Score In GATE Exam But I Have Back Log In Last Semester

Chandigarh: It is true that most of you might have worked hard for scoring a better percentile in the GATE exams and have unfortunately landed with a backlog in the last semester. If your previous backlogs are already cleared, then there would not be any problem for you to fetch admission in a good university. If you are having a backlog in the current semester and you are willing to reappear for the exam then you are eligible to do so. Chances are that your backlogs will be cleared by the time the result appears.  If your backlog is, however, carried on further your score will not be counted.


In any case, you can also re-attempt for the examination as there is no limit to the number of attempts that you make for qualifying the GATE exam. The dates for the further GATE examinations will be mentioned on the designated website and you can fill the forms before the desired date arrives. You must make sure to clear all the backlogs before the result of the next examination is out for referral. To be on the safe side without being disqualified for the next exam, it is advisable for you to clear all the existing backlogs.


The score that you have gained will not be assessed and it is advisable for you to prepare in the similar way for the forthcoming GATE exam. The details of all the syllabuses and the revised cut offs will be available for you to refer to the official website. While appearing for the next examination, you will have to attach the final year mark sheet and also a letter from the head of the institution stating that the backlogs are yet to be cleared. You may also have to mention about the inconvenience of presenting or attaching the degree certificate along with the application.
