Chandigarh: IIT receives higher grants compared to other engineering colleges across India. Most of the IITs rank above other engineering colleges in India. Students who have passed the final examination of engineering degree can apply to IIT. There are many categories during admission, reservation and general category. Some of the students say that they have got 58% in their final examination.
Students cannot get admission in the general category for IIT, because the general category cut off percentage for admission in IIT is 60%. So the student is not eligible to enter the general category because the students have less percentage below 60%. A student should really work hard to get the admission in the general category. The student can apply for reservation category he or she might get admission in the reservation category. Many students struggle to get admission into the general category because of less percentage and often the seats gets full.
The reservation quota for students are helpful in getting admission in many cases for the backward sections of the society. The IIT’s have a common admission process for the undergraduate students. There are a large number of coaching classes and institutes that provides proper teaching because of the highly competitive examination in the form of IIT. Getting admission in IIT field is often difficult for some of the students. There are many students who fail to achieve their goal in the general category.
The admission of these programs is conducted through an exam which is called the GATE. Many students apply for such type of examination after completing their engineering final examination. Many of the foreign students are interested in pursuing their undergraduate studies at IIT.
