Chandigarh: Exams for all the 22 different streams will be conducted using CBT (Computer Based Test) which is conducted online. There will be 2 different types of questions, one type in which the students are supposed to enter numerical digits for answering a question (rough papers will be provided for calculations and they are supposed to be given back after the exam) and the other type is Multiple Choice Questions.
What the students have to remember before entering into the exam hall is that they will be asked to provide photos and finger prints. This is for the security reasons. This process need not be done for all the students but it is better for you prepare for this mentally.
Since you have already enrolled for the exam, you can download a soft copy of the GATE Exam Admission card on 17th December on the website: http://gate.iitk.ac.in/
The GATE 2015 Exam (online) will be conducted on the dates: 31st January 2015, 1st, 7th and 8th February 2015.
Note: exams for some of the papers will be conducted on multiple sessions.
- If you are a Mechanical Engineering Student, the GATE 2015 Online Exam dates are on 31st January (Session 2) and 1st February (Session 3, 4).
- If you are a Computer Science Engineering CSE student or IT student, your exams dates are on 7th February (Sessions 5, 6) and 8th February (Session 7).
- If you are ECE Student, you exam dates are on 31st January (Sessions 1, 2) and 1st February (Session 3).
- If you are Electrical (EEE) Student, your exam dates is on 7th February (Sessions 5, 6).
