GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a standard Examination to test the complete understanding of undergraduate subjects in science and engineering conducted all over India. The Gate examinations are carried out by the Indian Institute of Technology of Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee. Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore under the welfare of the Education Department, Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India.
The score of candidates reflects the performance level of candidate. These scores are used for admissions to postgraduate programs like Master of Technology, Masters of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy. The gate scores are also used by government companies while recruiting graduate engineers. GATE is a most competitive examination in India
The examination is about 3 hours and consists of 65 questions of 100 marks. The exams are conducted online. The questions include both numerical answer type questions and multiple choice questions. A blank paper for rough work is provided which is to be returned after the examination. The test is conducted for 3 hours and the online examination paper disconnects after 3 hours.
The GATE Application Form Status can be checked online at Gate Online Application Processing System. You can log in to GOAPS gateway and check the application status. You can also know details and updates of the GATE exam. Enter the GATE Online Application Processing System at appsgate.iitk.ac.in.
While submitting the application form online you will need an enrollment ID which will be generated while you provide online form, you can choose a password by yourself. ID and password will help you to check your status of your application, status of payment of application fees.
