What is the Procedure to Apply for M.Tech in NITs?

Chandigarh: Once the GATE results out and announced, you need to check your scores and make it sure you have a valid GATE Score, (this also mean that you have been qualified in GATE), Secondly you will need to wait for admission notices for applying M. Tech courses in NITs. At the same time, you can check the last year’s Cutoff scores to have a rough idea that where you are standing you can also refer to the GATE percentile analysis or then the GATE Score analysis.

Fill in the application form (download the application form from the official website of your preferred NIT) and attach a DD of an application form and send them to M. Tech in NITs you are applying form, make sure that the form reaches before the last due date. (Our country is notoriously famous for postal delays so you should be careful  either you can send them by registered post or then to the  speed post, you need to  keep all the receipts safe, till your admissions, you can also write the name on the NIT, about the amount that you paid for to secure identification.)

Usually, M. Tech in NITs calls all of their GATE and Non GATE applicants. They say in some cases of non-availability of the GATE qualified candidates they may also consider some of the non-GATE candidates if by any chance the applied candidates are more, than the other candidates that are shortlisted on certain criteria which are given in the GATE percentile for IITs.

By any chance if you are a shortlisted candidate, then among the shortlist they usually call 1:3 (three candidates for just one seat) and also there will be a written test/ interview in both to select one of the best possible candidates. The test is a sure written exam for Non-GATE Candidates.
