19 Preparation Tricks for GATE Exam Candidates

GATE Exam Check List

Ensure that you have the GATE exam Syllabus .
Get all the relevant study materials for the subject. The collection should include the notes for basic and fundamental concepts, a guide book for Gate, book for specific problems and question papers of previous years.
Always go with books that are standardized and easily available. Plus, you must be able to understand the concepts easily so you could improve your learning ability.
Seek guidance from the already appeared GATE applicants.
You would be able to make a proper approach if you read the syllabus and the question paper carefully.
Start your preparation for the exam with the basic topics. Note down the essential formulae, theories, the basic definitions, dimensions, unit, etc.
Solve as many problems as possible and find out multiple ways and tricks to solve it. Refer different books for problematic questions.
Note down your own tricks and logics as it can help you to save time during the examination.
Take mock tests regularly to improve your score. Conduct tests from various chapters.
Practice more and more problems and carry it out for all the subjects and chapters.
Take a self-test based on the entire syllabus.
One needs to be very sincere while preparing for the exam and spend quality time studying.
Revise everything you studied multiple times one month before the examination starts. So that you are well prepared to crack the exam.
During revision concentrate more on the selected topics.
Reach the examination center 30 minutes prior to the exam, so you could be calm and relaxed during the exam.
Before leaving for the examination keep the admit card and required stationeries with you.
Try attempting section A that is compulsory. Especially the Q1 that carries one mark per question and the Q2 that carries two marks per question.
Do not panic in the examination hall, stay cool, read the question paper and attempt the paper carefully without any confusion.
Manage time accurately so you could complete the paper on time.

I Have A Dream To Study in IIT Through the GATE, but don’t know where to Start.

Chandigarh: GATE is a competitive test for admission to post graduation colleges. Students in the final year or pre-final year can apply for the exams.
