Who is Eligible to Take the GATE Exam?

 

Chandigarh: GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a significant examination for both under Graduates and postgraduates who want to do their higher studies in technology or are looking for jobs in governments sector PSU’s.

Various PSU’s and government sector jobs prefer valid gate scores during the selection of the suitable candidate. Until a couple of years ago, these PSU’s (Public Sector Undertaking Companies) used to conduct their own entrance exams for recruiting candidates, But now, things have changed. They trust the GATE Board and are using GATE Scores for their Recruitment Process and this is a good new for candidates.

Applicants should check the eligibility criteria before submitting an online application for the gate 2015 exam. Following are the eligibility criteria for gate 2015 exam:

• All those candidates are eligible for gate 2015 exam who are doing B.Tech/ B.E./ B.Pharm / B.Arch/ BS/ M.Sc./M.A./ MCA or equivalent/ Int. M. Sc/ Int. B.S.-M.S. and are in their final year, a certificate from principal is required and for those who have completed their degree they have to submit the Course Completion Certificate / Provisional Certificate /Degree Certificate.

• All those candidates are eligible for gate exam who are doing Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post BSc) and are in their second/third/fourth year, or the candidates doing Int. M.E./M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2) and are in their fourth/fifth year, a certificate from principal is required and for those who have completed their degree they have to submit the Course Completion Certificate / Provisional Certificate /Degree Certificate.

Certification from Principal:

Applicants who need to submit passing certificate from their Principal, need to get one from his/her organization ahead of time and should upload it at the time of online submission of the gate application form online.

Applicants Who Have Backlogs:

Applicants who have giving their final year or final semester exam and have backlogs, they are required to:

• Submit any mark sheet of final at the time of online application

• Submit the duly signed and stamped ‘Certificate from the Principal’ from HOD /Principal at the time of online application. This form applicant can download from gate website.
